    Please fill out and submit this form to attend your school’s cohort for the UWE Program with Gradalis.
    This form will make clear the elements and expectations of the program as it endeavors to introduce and support teachers in independent and public Waldorf schools to grow in their understanding of the principles of Waldorf Education.

    ADDING YOUR SIGNATURE AT THE END MEANS YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE PROGRAM AND THEIR INTENT TO ASSIST TEACHERS IN THE CLASSROOM TO BETTER FULFILL THE DUTIES OF THE WALDORF TEACHER IN THEIR CLASSROOM AND IN THEIR SCHOOLS.

    PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

    1. Provide an online option for teachers in Waldorf schools to gain insight and foundations for teaching in a Waldorf school
    2. Introduce teachers to Waldorf principles applicable for classroom teaching and philosophy
    3. Lay a foundation for the arts in painting, drawing and clay modeling with children
    4. Monthly grade level or specialty teacher mentor meetings with other teachers at your grade level or specialty with an experienced and trained Waldorf instructor
    5. Virtual mentor visits 2 times per year to provide individual mentoring for teachers in the program
    6. This program offers support for some Specials Teachers including: P.E./Games & Movement; Foreign Language; Handwork; Music (recorder, band, singing/choir, & orchestra)

    Attendance Requirement:
    Teachers receive accredited clock hours for classes attended for grade level/special subject teacher meetings, visual arts and Waldorf philosophy discussions on topics on What Makes a Waldorf Classroom and a Waldorf teacher. Practical topics are intended to support teachers in understanding Waldorf approaches and practices. Attendance will be taken in each session and reported to the program administrator. The program runs for 8-months beginning in September and ending in April.

    Elements of the Program:
    UWE program hours are accredited with ACCET (The Accreditation Council of Continuing Education and Trainings) out of Washington D.C. CEUs are offered through Certificates of Completion for the hours completed each year in the program. The full program is taught online.
    Total of 56 Clock Hours may be accomplished each year in the program and includes the following:
    a. 16 Clock Hours Philosophy Course focused on What Makes Waldorf Waldorf classroom practices and applications one time per month.
    b. 16 Clock hrs. for Grade Level/Specialty Subject Mentor Sessions one time per month for 1.5 hours.
    c. 4 Clock hrs. for attending Visual Arts Instruction Sessions online every other month.
    d. 4 Clock hrs. per year credit for Virtual mentoring 2 times per year by a Gradalis qualified mentor
    e. Optional: 8 clock hrs. credit for Visual Arts. Includes access to grade level asynchronous video art lessons (1 per month for 8 months) and completion and submission of watercolor painting, drawing or clay modeling into Google Classroom + discussion board
    f. Optional: 8 Clock hrs. credit for Temporal Arts. This includes access to asynchronous videos of movement lessons by grade. Includes Spacial Dynamics and/or circle activities. To receive credit, watch the pre-recorded video and then work with this movement in your classroom. Video your class doing the movement or meet with other teachers in the program to video yourselves doing the movement to demonstrate you are putting movement into practice.
    Includes Participation in the monthly discussion board on Google Classroom is required by ACCET for these accredited hours.
    Teachers receive credit for classes attended. All coursework is optional, but to receive credit, teachers should attend at the least the Philosophy, Grade Level/Specialty Subject classes online, and Virtual Mentoring. Choose other coursework that applies to what you are teaching and have time for. No Homework is assigned except for those opting to complete lab hours in Visual and Temporal Arts. >br>
