Understanding Waldorf Education
Coming from a background of permaculture and sustainable, grassroots development, Stephanie Skinner, MA, has been working within Waldorf education for 25 years. Her first Waldorf classroom experiences and Waldorf credential came from the Eugene Waldorf School and Teacher Education program. She has served as both an independent and public Waldorf kindergarten and preschool teacher, administrator for the Alliance for Public Waldorf Education, director of Live Oak Waldorf School’s Sunflower Nursery, and a teacher-trainer for the Hybrid Program of Rudolf Steiner College.
Currently she runs a small forest-and-farm-based program for children ages 3-7 in her Grass Valley, CA, home, where her son is completing his 8th grade year in a Waldorf home study learning community.
“Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom.”
–Rudolf Steiner
