Ireneo De Leon

Ireneo De Leon

Grade Two

Ireneo De Leon started teaching after he had graduated from University of San Carlos, Cebu City, in the Philippines where he took up his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1998 and Master’s Degree in Psychology. In 2015, Ireneo and his family moved to the United States to join the Prairie Moon Waldorf School community in Kansas. In the same year, he began his Waldorf teacher training course at Antioch University, New England and pursued his Masters in Education (in Waldorf Education) in the same institution which he completed in 2020.

Ireneo has taught grades 1-8 multiple times and brings a wealth of understanding to class teachers out of his study and experience. Being a passionate student of Waldorf pedagogy, Ireneo joined and formed study groups and has also given talks about Waldorf education in different schools in the Philippines and in the United States. As of the moment, one of his initiatives is leading a learning discussion with parents about Waldorf pedagogy including Waldorf principles for parents to understand, review and experience.

Ireneo and his wife Nerissa have been gifted with three children, Irene, Inigo, and Isabella.

“Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom.”
